How To Find the Right Counselor

This past week I attended the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors (NANC) Conference held at NorthCreek Church in Walnut Creek, CA. It has been over eight years since I attended training at Faith Baptist Church in Lafayette, IN, and so I was eager to be present. As one who embraces Nouthetic Counseling I especially appreciate men like Randy Patten, Paul Tripp, Tedd Trip, Lou Priolo, Stuart Scott, Steve Viars & David Powleson, and I am eager to sit under their teaching to grow and gain wisdom in both the formal side of counseling as well as the informal. Sadly, a Biblical approach to counseling is greatly lacking in the church today. Usually what a church offers, if anything, is a quasi form of secular psychology laced with scripture by well meaning people who have not embraced the Scriptures or the Savior as sufficient. So, how does one find a counselor who is going to give them Biblical Wisdom for their struggle, problem or 'disorder'? Here is a video that should help...
