Small Groups

Small groups meet periodically to help equip and encourage the Body of Christ through the Word. Our people gather together in various groups such as men, women, students, and married couples or parents. The small groups currently meeting are as follows:

Men's Ministry

Although we are taking the month of July off from our Men2Men Bible Studies I do want to let you know that we will be starting them up again on August 8th.  Two groups of men meet every second and fourth and Thursdays of every month at 6 am and 7 pm respectively and in different locations.

Over the years we have had the privilege of allowing the following books to shape our understanding of God, the Gospel and our ongoing  walk with him:

  • Ten Questions to Diagnose Your Spiritual Health by Don Whitney
  • Everyone's A Theologian by R. C. Sproul
  • The Pursuit of Holiness by Jerry Bridges
  • The Practice of Godliness by Jerry Bridges
  • Church History 101 by Sinclair Ferguson, Joel Beeke & Michael Horton
  • Biblical Theology by Nick Roark & Robert Cline (9Marks)
  • The Imperfect Disciple by Jared C. Wilson

On August 8th we will be kicking off a new study, The Attributes of God by Arthur Pink.  This is a classic work containing 19 short but packed articles on God's attributes:

  1. The Solitariness of God
  2. The Decrees of God
  3. The Knowledge of God
  4. The Foreknowledge of God
  5. The Supremacy of God
  6. The Sovereignty of God
  7. The Immutability of God
  8. The Holiness of God
  9. The Power of God
  10. The Faithfulness of God
  11. The Goodness of God
  12. The Patience of God
  13. The Grace of God
  14. The Mercy of God
  15. The Lovingkindness of God

This book can be purchased for Kindle (link below), but it is also offered free as both Kindle (Mobi) and in PDF format (below):   I have also included the links below.  Please note that there are a few different versions of this in PDF format, so please use the one I am suggesting if you choose to go that route.  (I will be using the PDF version as it allows me to highlight and take written notes.)

Women's Ministry

Dear Ladies of Gateway,

The upcoming study on 1 Peter is an Inductive Bible study taught by Jen Wilken.  She is a speaker, writer, and teacher of the Bible who is also one of the keynote speakers at the Gospel Coalition Women's Conferences.  She is a writer of many books and has written several Bible studies.

In her words, "Peter challenges us to look beyond our current circumstances to a future inheritance.  In 1 Peter, he shares concerns about big-picture issues for the early believers, reminding them of the living hope that they have in Christ.  Peter describes our true identity as believers and points us to humility and submission."

Please make it a point to join the Ladies Bible study to grow personally in your own walk with God as well as to be an encouragement to other ladies as they seek to pursue Christ.

  • The Bible Study will take place at the home of Rebecca Blackburn
  • The study will run from September 24th - November 19th.

We are looking forward to seeing you!

Student Ministry

Our Jr. High and High School students meet every first Sunday of the month from 1 - 3pm to discuss the Gospel Project.  In addition, every seven weeks our students meet for Sunday School during the sermon.  We encourage all Jr. High and High School students to sit under the preaching of the Word on Sunday mornings.
